Materials students enjoy a generous amount of hands-on practical work and this involves a lot of specialist equipment and laboratory spaces. Recent investments in our own building and STEMLab have given us exceptional facilities for our students. Materials Facilities in STEMLab

Equipment and virtual tours in the Materials building (S-Building)

S Building is home to the Departments of Materials and Chemical Engineering and contains some of the cutting-edge, specialist  laboratory and processing facilities these departments use in their teaching. It is  also where the majority of our academic staff and research facilities are based.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Materials Characterisation Centre

The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Materials Characterisation Centre (LMCC) is a truly world-class facility and brings together cutting edge microscopy, surface analysis and testing equipment coupled with a team of highly respected and very experienced scientists and engineers. Occupying a discrete section in the Materials building (S-Building), its facilities are used for teaching of students, research and contract and consultancy work for many well-known industrial companies.
